Steven K. Stoltz

The Madisonville Fire Department is led by Fire Chief Steven K. Stoltz.

He was selected by Mayor William M. Cox Jr. and sworn in on March 2, 2007. Chief Stoltz brings 25 years of service to the position.

A native of Madisonville, and a 1977 graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School, Chief Stoltz attended Madisonville Community College and worked for the Kroger Co. He began his fire service career as a volunteer for the Hanson Fire Department in 1982. In 1983 he earned a certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and was hired by Medical Center Ambulance Service. In 1984 He was appointed Chief of the Hanson Volunteer Fire Department where he served until his acceptance as a fire fighter on Madisonville Fire Department in Dec. 1988. Throughout the years Chief Stoltz has worked diligently to improve the department and set an example for others. Advancing through the ranks to Lieutenant he has obtained certifications as Ky. Certified Career Fire Fighter, Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous Materials Technician, Ky. Fire Instructor Level 3, International Fire Service Accreditation Certified Fire Fighter Level 1 and 2, and American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Instructor.

Presently Chief Stoltz serves as an instructor with Kentucky State Fire Rescue Training Div. of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, and is active with the Area 2 Hazardous Materials Team.

His goals are to get everyone from Senior Fire Fighter to Chief to "lead by example", and to make Madisonville a safer place to live and work.

Chief Stoltz and his wife Barbara are the proud parents of three daughters, Kelley, Laura, and Maggie

 

 


John D. Stewart Jr.

Assistant Fire Chief

John D. Stewart Jr.

John D. Stewart Jr. is an Assistant Fire Chief with the Madisonville Fire Department.  He has been with the Fire Department since 1990.

He is a native of Madisonville and 1987 graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins high School.  He is a Kentucky Certified Emergency Medical Technician as well a Hazardous Materials Technician. 

Starting as a firefighter, Assistant Chief Stewart advanced through the ranks of Engineer and Lieutenant, before becoming and Assistant Chief.

 


                           Major

Todd Howard

Todd Howard

Todd Howard is a Major with the Madisonville Fire Department.  He has been with the Fire Department since 1991.

He is the Shift Commander of "A" shift.

 

 

 

 

Ray Wyatt

Ray Wyatt is a Major with the Madisonville Fire department.  He has been with the Fire Department since 1991. 

 He is the Shift Commander of "B" Shift.

 

 

 

Jason Eli

 Jason Eli

 Jason Eli is a Major with the Madisonville Fire Department.  He has been with the Fire Department since 1991. 

He is a 1988 graduate of South Hopkins High School.  He is a Kentucky Certified Emergency Medical Technician and is active with the volunteer fire service in Hopkins County.

He is the Shift Commander of "C" Shift.
