The City of Madisonville Department of Human Resources seeks to develop and administer innovative programs for personnel management that are fair, equitable, and in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. The Department of Human Resources is responsible for four program areas which include: human resource management, benefits and risk management, safety and training, and employee recruitment. The department is responsible for:

Advertising, recruiting and taking applications.

Administering all tests for employment and promotions for all City positions.
-
Revision and interpretation of all personnel policies, safety policies, rules and regulations.

Classification/compensation/performance evaluation management.
-
Benefit management, including medical insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance, City Employees Retirement Systems (CERS).

Risk management and various safety/employee health and wellness programs.

Administering the City's Drug and Alcohol testing program.

Self-funded workers' compensation plan

Administering employee education assistance program
