Madisonville Wastewater Collection Department, Sanitary Sewer Upgrade

The WWC Department is nearing completion of the sanitary sewer upgrade between Marty Drive and the Grampian Hills Lift Station.  The project will replace 1,387 ft. of eight-inch vitrified clay sewer main with a twelve-inch PVC sewer main.

As Madisonville continues to grow and expand services, the aging infrastructure will need to be continually evaluated and upgraded as necessary to meet the demands of the community.  There are many benefits to this particular project:

  • Better flow characteristics
  • Reduced groundwater infiltration
  • Reduced overflows
  • Groundwater protection

The WWC would like to thank the Mayor, City Council and City Administrative Officer for approving and supporting this project.  This is just one of the projects the WWC completes each year to protect the health and environment of Madisonville and Hopkins County.
