Friday Night Live Dates Announced

The City of Madisonville, Madisonville Renaissance, in partnership with Trover Health System, announces that the 2008 edition of the free downtown concert series, Friday Night Live, kicks off on Friday, June 13th at 6 PM in downtown Madisonville. The summer concert event dates are June 13th, July 11th, and August 8th.

The June 13th event will feature the annual "Rock, Roll & Run" 5 K road race and 1 1/2 mile fun walk, the Nashville area group Entice, an inflatable castle, cornhole tournament, vendor booths, a "Beer Garden" sponsored by the Madisonville Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce and much more. In addition Crime Stoppers plans to have their campaign kick-off between 5:30 and 6 PM in the main stage area.

Daron Jordan, Community Development Director for the City of Madisonville, stated "we are again pleased to announce that Trover Health System has partnered with the City of Madisonville Renaissance Committee to sponsor the Friday Night Live event. This joint collaboration strengthens Friday Night Live and allows us to increase event offerings and promote the event beyond the immediate area. This event helps promote the downtown area as a place of community gathering. Last years events were the most successful to date and this was in large part due to the partnership established between the City of Madisonville and Trover Health System. The City is also pleased to welcome the Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission as a sponsor in this year's event. Through the support of the Tourist and Convention Commission the event will be marketed to a larger audience as billboards will be erected in neighboring counties to promote our Friday Night Live series."

The event also hopes to help local small businesses, non-profits, schools, and church groups, by allowing them to set up booths during the event to sell items. Vendors interested in participating in the event can download a vendor application here or contact the office of Community Development at (270) 824-2195.

Food sales this year will be limited to non-profit, school, and church groups. However, commercial vendors are encouraged to participate by selling other items.

In its 7th year of existence, the Friday Night Live event was established as an event to help promote downtown and to add to the communities quality of life.
