Video Assists With Educating Public on Track Relocation Project

It is no secret that Mayor Cox advocates the relocation of the railroad tracks that run through the heart of the downtown districts in Madisonville and Earlington.  Since the beginning of his term as mayor he has successfully maintained a dialogue with local, state, and federal legislators as well as CSXT executives promoting the project and seeking funding assistance.  The meetings and conversations have proven to be beneficial and consequently in April of 2008 $300,000 of state funds was secured to pay for a feasibility study.  The results of the study would outline a variety of options as well as estimated project expense.

As the project continues to move forward, many people inquire about its status and are often unclear about the expected outcome.  In an attempt to assist in educating the public about the importance of the track relocation project, a video has been produced detailing why the project is important and highlighting the inherent benefits of successful completion.
