James Madison Middle School Patriot Academy On February 20, 2008 Mayor Cox was accompanied in Frankfort by the Patriot Academy from James Madison Middle School. The group spent the day touring the capitol building and witnessed the House and Senate in action - during which they were introduced by Representative Eddie Ballard and Senator Jerry Rhoads. The students even caught a glimpse of Jared, the Subway guy, who was close by promoting a new Healthy Kentucky initiative. The idea to take the group to Frankfort was sparked after Mayor Cox was invited to speak to the Patriot Academy in December and became intrigued by this relatively new program which is led by teachers Ann Ford and Len Young. Ford and Young launched the program after hearing success stories of similar programs throughout Kentucky. These 17 students are remarkable young men and women and represent James Madison Middle School and the Hopkins County School District very well. We wish all of them the very best!
